U1000 / U3000 Headlight Fault Repair (Data Recovery)
If your Ford Ranger has one or both headlights not working and you’ve already checked bulbs, fuses and wiring, the likely culprit is the BCM. Typical fault codes are U1000 and U3000 (Solid State Driver protection activated), often accompanied by codes such as: U1000-00, U3000-49, B1D00-11 / B1D00-15 (left low beam) and B1D01-11 / B1D01-15 (right low beam). This is a common internal error with these modules — but we can fix it.
Send us your BCM and we’ll reset and restore it to its original working condition for a fraction of the cost of a new unit (new replacement units are approximately £800 + VAT, plus fitting and additional programming). Typical turnaround is within 48 hours, after which your item will be returned by DPD with next-day tracked delivery.
BCM Cloning Service
If your ECU/module is irreparably damaged (for example by water ingress or a failed component) and you have a donor unit, you cannot simply swap units because they are locked to the original vehicle’s immobiliser/electronic system. We will transfer (clone) the data from your original, faulty unit to the donor unit so it will work in your vehicle with no further programming required. In most cases we can extract the required data even from units showing ‘no communication’ to diagnostic tools. Once cloned, your vehicle will start and run normally; mileage, central locking and other functions will remain unchanged.
Important — Before Refitting the BCM
Please ensure all underlying electrical faults are resolved before refitting the module: repair any short circuits, replace blown bulbs with new items, and remove any aftermarket modifications (e.g. additional lights or non-factory LED bulbs). The vehicle’s wiring must be returned to factory condition.
